Product Overview
High alumina bricks are the workhorse lining for rotary kilns where fireclay lacks refractoriness but chrome-bearing or basic bricks are unsuitable. Made from calcined bauxite and dense chamotte bonded with refractory clay, chemistry runs from about 55% to 90% Al2O3 across the LZ-55 to LZ-80 grade family, with refractoriness under load, crushing strength and slag resistance all rising with alumina content. Typical properties for the range are RUL of 1450–1700°C at 0.2 MPa, cold crushing strength of 40–70 MPa and apparent porosity of 20–23% or less. Plants listed here press standard 230 × 114 × 65 mm straights as well as burner-pipe, nose-ring and transition-zone shapes, and can match lining design against kiln diameter, rotation speed and fuel ash chemistry before quoting.
